TEDxRyersonU 2012: ACT

On Sunday November 25th, 2012, TEDxRyersonU invited you to ACT. The Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens) hosted a lineup of dynamic speakers and a diverse audience comprised of some of Ryerson’s most curious minds. Our goal was to celebrate agents of change within our community; those who have made ideas happen. This year’s immersive event was a multi-disciplinary, multi-media experience that leveraged the power of digital media and ideas worth spreading. We continued tweeting, blogging, snapping photos, recording video, and web-streaming in order to project Ryerson’s ideas onto the Global stage.

Distinguished Ryerson history professor Arne Kislenko spoke about ACTion through history and education.

ACT: 2012 Theme

Our very existence is based on cycles of action and reaction; the actions of those that came before us, and the reactions that shape our present and future. On November 25th, 2012, TEDxRyersonU celebrated those who have grasped an abstrACT idea and transformed it into a tangible reality. This year, we went beyond ideation, brainstorming, and conceptualization. We showcased those who have defied the odds and brought their ideas and dreams to life, with the help of passion and perspiration.
